However, some people wish to join the Military because they are physically, and mentally fit to become a soldier. The fear of war made many people changed their minds. - Antar Laniyan
Antar Laniyan is a Nigerian veteran actor, producer, and film director. He was born in Osogbo, the capital of Osun State. He studied Theater Arts at the University of Ibadan. He has been acting for over 20 years, but he initially intended to join the Nigerian army.
In his interview with Punch newspaper, he said he had the desire to become a soldier at some point in his life because he’s a disciplined person. But his secondary school principal advised him not to join the military. He thanked God he didn’t join the military. He said he would have taken part in a coup if he had joined the military, and he would have been arrested or killed.
- Yul Edochie
The second popular Nigeria celebrity who wanted to become a soldier but ended up as an actor, is a popular Nollywood actor, Yul Edochie. He’s a multi-talented Nollywood actor, who also is a son of a veteran Nollywood actor, Pete Edochie. He was born in Anambra State.
In his interview with Daily Trust, Yul Edochie revealed that his father, who is also a Nollywood actor inspired him, but not the reason why he join Nollywood. He also revealed that he loved acting and he used to mimic people a lot when he was a kid. He added that if not it has been destined he will be an actor, he would have been a soldier because he loves the military.
