Governor Bello Matawalle has ordered the closing down of all boarding schools in the state he governs.
This order comes after a mass abduction of schoolgirls by gunmen occurred in the state. It was gathered that 300 girls from Government Girls Secondary school, Jangebe were kidnapped in the early hours of Friday, 26th February, 2021.
Reacting to the kidnap, the Governor has called for the closure of all boarding schools in the state.
On Monday, February 22, he made this disclosure after three repentant bandits surrendered their weapons and accepted the peace deal of this regime. Governor Bello Matawalle has intimated that it doesn’t mean failure if bandits are negotiated with.
