Former Manchester United defender, Rio Ferdinand, says Bayern Munich, Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain, as the favourites to win the Champions League this year ahead of Liverpool.
According to Ferdinand, Jurgen Klopp’s men cannot win the trophy, except they get centre-backs Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez back from injury.
The Premier League champions are through to the quarter-finals, after a 4-0 aggregate win over RB Leipzig on Wednesday.
“With that defence….if Van Dijk and Gomez ain’t there they don’t win the Champions League, for me, at all.

“There’s Bayern [Munich], Man City, PSG we’ve seen have gone through in the other game.
“Those teams will be licking their lips if they come up against a centre-back pairing like that at this level,” Ferdinand said on BT Sport.
