Atiku Abubakar has mourned with the families who lost their loved ones in the Kubwa Market fire in the nation capital, Abuja.
The Chairman of Bwari Area Council in Abuja, John Gabaya, attributed the casualties caused by Friday’s fire event in the council’s Kubwa Village market area on the vendors selling their wares on the roadside.

The explosion of a neighboring fuel tanker, he claimed, was the most likely origin of the fire.
He said, “We kept warning the people here on the dangers of selling their goods by the road side.
“Also, a task force committee usually spends a lot of money to come here daily to make sure people don’t sell by the road side, but the traders have been negligent and rude.”
Reacting to the sad news, Atiku took to social media to express how downtrodden he was when he heard of the news.
He prayed for the souls of the departed traders who perished in the fire.
His post read: My deepest condolences to the families who lost a loved one in the Kubwa Market incident in the nation’s capital. May God comfort and strengthen the bereaved and grant eternal rest to the dead.
