Olaseni, Anthony Oluwafemi Anthony Joshua OBE (born 15 October 1989) is a well-known British professional boxer. He holds the undisputed heavyweight championship.

He has successfully represented Great Britain in the Olympics, Commonwealth Games, and numerous other international athletic competitions.

Anthony Joshua began his athletic career as a football player before switching to boxing in his late teens.

Over time, he progressed from a troubled adolescent to a heavyweight professional. Because of his athletic ability, he had an excellent record and was unbeaten during his amateur career. At the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, he won a gold medal.

Early Life and Education

Anthony Joshua was born on October 15, 1989, in Watford, Hertfordshire, to Robert Joshua and Yeta Odusanya. He spent the majority of his childhood in his Nigerian ancestral home. When he was five years old, his parents divorced, and his mother decided to return. His parents are from Nigeria.

He returned to Watford to attend Kings Langley Secondary School. His friends and teachers gave him the nickname Femi because of his middle name, Oluwafemi. Jacob Joshua, Janet Joshua, and Loretta Joshua are his three siblings.

Anthony Joshua excelled in football and athletics as a child. He also showed great promise as a sprinter, breaking the 100-meter record with a time of 11.6 seconds. He worked as a bricklayer before taking up boxing.

Anthony Joshua won the Haringey Boxing Cup twice in a row in 2009 and 2010. During his blazing 20s, he won every one of his 18 amateur fights. Among them were victories in the Senior ABA Championships. He turned down a £50,000 offer to work as a professional.

In June 2011, he won the European Amateur Boxing Championships over Cathal McMonagle and Eric Brechlin. However, Mihai Nistor, a Romanian, cut him off.

While competing for the GB Boxing Team, he quickly won the GB Amateur Boxing Championships. Because of his performance in the 2011 World Amateur Boxing Championships, he was given a spot in the 2012 Olympic Games.
