Banky W, formerly known as Olubankole Wellington, is the son of George Bankole Wellington (Father) and Momma Wellington, also known as Mrs Wellington (Mother).
He was born in Badagry, while his mother was born in Calabar, Cross River State.
Banky W was born in the United States of America on March 27, 1981, rather than Nigeria.
Mr. and Mrs. Wellington, his parents, moved to Nigeria with his siblings five years after he was born.
As a result, the Yoruba man has four brothers and sisters.
Banky W received his elementary and secondary education in Lagos, Nigeria, before moving to the United States of America to pursue his higher education.
He was awarded a scholarship to attend Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in New York City.
Banky W, the Strong Ting crooner, began his meteoric career as a student at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in New York City. While working with GlobalSpec in 2002, he launched the E.M.E Records record label using his talents and hard work.
After completing his education in the United States, the singer returned to Nigeria and established a new record label in Lagos.
He went throughout the country looking for talent to fill the hole in his new record company, which led to the introduction of future superstars Wizkid, Skales, Niyola, and Shaydee.
Banky W worked and released his first studio album, R&BW, at the Civic Centre Victoria Island Lagos State during a music extravaganza dubbed The Grand Love Concert.

Unfortunately, he lost the election to Babajide Obanikoro of the All Progressive Congress, who eventually won.
on 23rd May 2022 Banky W won the Official Ticket to contest for Lagos state house of representative under the Umbrella of PDP
