Joan Laporta had to respond after Joan Nagelsmann questioned how the Liga giants were able to make such lucrative deals.
Bayern Munich’s Julian Nagelsmann recently said that it is “strange” that the Blaugrana are able to complete so many transactions, prompting Barcelona president Joan Laporta to allege that Nagelsmann is “distorting reality” in his remarks.
This summer, Camp Nou has signed Robert Lewandowski, Raphinha, Franck Kessie, Andreas Christensen, and Jules Kounde.
Although Barca’s financial difficulties have been well-documented, money has been raised through the sale of television rights, and Laporta is anxious to dispel any doubts by emphasizing the fact that the Catalan giants continue to be one of the biggest draws in sport.
What has Barcelona said in response to Bayern’s remarks?
Laporta responded to Nagelsmann and the defending Bundesliga champions’ jabs during a press conference held during Barca’s preseason tour of the United States by saying: “Germany-related comments? They would need to review their finances because the Lewandowski deal netted them a sizable sum of money.
They are twisting reality, I say. They are unaware of Barcelona’s worth.
We are quite aware, I assure those who are astonished. We are once again for sale. An organization with a history spanning more than 122 years carries a lot of weight, power, and importance.
