Giroud’s goal seemed much more impressive in the bodycam footage.

On Saturday at the RheinEnergieStadion, AC Milan played Koln in a friendly match using cutting-edge bodycam technology.

Two Koln players, Timo Hubers and Mark Uth, were equipped with cameras and microphones to give the spectators a unique opportunity to watch the game up close and personal. It was nothing short of a revolution in sports broadcasting history.

Throughout the game, we got to see some amazing moments, with Oliver Giroud’s opening goal possibly being the best action shot by the bodycam.

The former Arsenal attacker scored twice as Milan defeated the Bundesliga team 2-1. He was in excellent form during the preseason friendly.

The bodycam video of the goal is simply breathtaking. The forward cheekily dinked the ball over the advancing goalkeeper before tapping it home to score his first.

How does body camera technology function?

By allowing fans to witness a game from a player’s First-Person Point of View, MindFly’s AI-powered bodycam seeks to bridge the gap between television viewers and athletes (FPV).

To accomplish that, the player will put on a thin AI bodycam vest that also has a microphone so that the camera can record their perspective.

The bodycam did a fantastic job of capturing both Giroud’s goal and Florian Dietz’s goal in the dying seconds of the game.

It provided viewers with a clear picture of the scuffle that takes place during a flag kick in the penalty box. Additionally, the AI-powered camera captured the goal celebrations well after it had been scored.
