Do You Remember Late Yoruba Actor, Dagunro ? See Recent Photos Of His Son Who’s Also An Actor

Fasisi Olabankewin who’s popularly known as Dagunro is a renowned veteran actor known for his acceptance of Yoruba culture and tradition in movies.

Dagunro as he’s fondly called is mostly known for his traditional roles. He values his culture and traditions. And shuns the modern culture of the white in movies.

During an interview he had in 2016 when he was still alive, he said that he can never add the American culture into his movies. He said, he can never allow kissing in his movies because it’s against the Yoruba tradition.

Dagunro didn’t complete his education. He had primary six which he completed in 1968. He was born in the 1950s and a native of Ogun State. He would have loved to study more because he was very intelligent. According to him, if he had studied more, he would be working with the white people then.

The zeal ans drive to joined the Yoruba movie Industry came from an actor he loves so much, Late Duro Ladipo. He also learnt mechanic and later completed his apprenticeship before he came to Lagos to find a better life.

Dagunro is popularly known for his movie, Osa Eleye which was one of his best selling movies. In fact, the movie brought him joy as the marketer bought him two Cars because of it success. He also produced Akanni Mefa and over 50 movies, since he joined the Yoruba movie Industry 50 Years ago.

He was happily married and blessed with three children. His third child, Jamiu is a popular Yoruba actor. He has been acting since childhood and is known for his role in 100 years.


It’s so unfortunate that this fulfilled actor died of an unknown illness. He died on the 13th of July 2019 in Osogbo, Osun State. Jamiu is still active in the Yoruba movie Industry. He’s a single father of one and the CEO of 100 Years Entertainment.
