Jack Wilshere, a former midfielder for both England and Arsenal, has retired at the young age of 30.

After leaving the club’s development academy, Wilshere made his league debut for Arsenal in 2008 at the age of 16 and 256 days.

Wilshere made a strong start to his career and was widely expected to establish himself as a vital player for both Arsenal and England.

However, a string of injuries and issues with his off-field behavior slowed down his development.

Wilshere played for England for the first time in 2010. He earned 34 caps and participated in the Euro 2016 and the 2014 World Cup.

Despite Wilshere making 197 games for the Gunners and winning the FA Cup with them in 2014 and 2015, he never fully lived up to his potential.

He was on for a season.
