Early Life and Education
Kola Abiola was born in the city of Abeokuta in the state of Ogun. Before going to university, he completed his elementary and secondary school in Ogun State.
Before going to Ibadan Grammar School, he attended Baptist High School and resided with the principal. He experienced severe jaundice during the holidays and was unable to return to school, spending over six months at home recuperating.
Kola Abiola later attended Maryland Comprehensive Secondary School for a semester before being transferred to Aiyetoro, where he finished his secondary school career.
Kola Abiola attended Berkeley and then Colorado State University for his undergraduate and MBA degrees in finance and business administration, respectively.
Kola Abiola returned from England and established the University Staff School in Akoka, while his mother worked as a lecturer at YabaTech and his father worked as an accountant.
Kola Abiola’s father owned ITT as well as RCN, Radio Communications Nigeria, Wonderloaf Bakery, Concord Press, Abiola farms, Concorde Airlines, and African Concord.
