Farida Abubakar who is 30ys old, was arrested by the Kebbi State Police Command in connection with the murder of her estranged husband, Attahiru Ibrahim Zagga.
The command’s spokesperson, SP Nafiu Abubakar, said in a statement on Friday, August 26, that Ibrahim, a Magistrate judge with the Kebbi State judiciary, was stabbed to death in his Birnin Kebbi house on Thursday night.
“On 25/8/2022 at about 2140hrs, policemen attached to the Divisional Police Headquarters, Gwadangaji, received information that a suspected strange noise was heard from the house of a neighbor, one Attahiru Ibrahim ‘M’ of Alieru Quarters, Birnin Kebbi, and his gate was also locked,” according to the statement.
“Upon receiving the information, a team of police officers was quickly mobilized to the scene and forced their way into the house, where they discovered the said Attahiru Ibrahim lying down in a pool of his own blood and was later confirmed dead by a medical doctor.”
“His estranged wife, one Farida Abubakar ‘F,’ 30, was also seen inside the compound.” As a result, she was investigated and arrested in connection with the case.
“As a result, the Commissioner of Police, Kebbi State Command, CP Ahmed Magaji Kontagora, had directed the DPO to immediately transfer the case to SCID, Birnin Kebbi, for discreet investigation in order to unravel the circumstances surrounding the heinous incident,” he continued.
Meanwhile, Aminu Ubandoma, a former classmate of the deceased, confirmed the incident on Friday.
