The 23-year-old should not leave the Partenopei for a fresh challenge this summer, according to the former Super Eagles midfielder.

Victor Osimhen, a forward for the Super Eagles, has been pushed by Nigerian icon Sunday Oliseh to remain at Napoli ahead of the upcoming Serie A season.

Due to his excellent performance for the Partenopei during the previous season, the 23-year-old Nigerian international is currently dominating the transfer news in Europe.

Since the transfer window began, Premier League teams Manchester United, Arsenal, and Newcastle United have all been mentioned in connection with the Super Eagle. The newest to join the conversation is German powerhouse Bayern Munich.

Osimhen have the skills to succeed at Napoli, according to 47-year-old Oliseh, who is currently the club’s manager at SV Straelen in Germany.

According to Oliseh, who was quoted by Punch, “He has all the characteristics to excel at the club therefore I think he should stay.” He said, “I’m delighted to see him now finally doing his thing, he can be better than Samuel Eto’o if he maintains up with his scoring form.”

Between 2009 and 2011, Eto’o, the current president of the Cameroonian Football Federation, played for Inter Milan in Serie A, making 67 appearances and tallying 33 goals.

However, according to Oliseh, any team that is able to get Osimhen’s services will have found solutions to their pressing issues.

One thing is clear, said Oliseh, who played 63 international games and scored three goals for Nigeria before hanging up his boots, “should any side obtain [Victor] Osimhen, they would go significantly up to another level.”

Dosu Joseph, a former Super Eagles player, agreed with Oliseh’s comments and cautioned Osimhen against quitting the Italian team.

The same outlet quoted Joseph as saying, “Osimhen’s one of my favorite Eagles players right now. He’s sacrificed himself a lot throughout games. He works so hard, which makes me a tremendous fan.

“I’m certain he won’t get far. I believe he should continue playing for Napoli for another season so he can improve.

Osimhen led Napoli in goals with 18 last year across all competitions. He made a total of 27 games in the top division, logged 1,992 minutes on the field, and finished tied for seventh in the Serie A scoring rankings with a total of 14 goals.
