Since relocating to the French city last year, the Argentine has drawn a lot of criticism, much to his teammate’s chagrin.

Neymar, a star for Paris Saint-Germain, has reacted angrily to Lionel Messi’s detractors after the team’s 4-0 victory over Nantes in the Trophee des Champions. The Argentine attacker, who scored the game’s first goal against the Coupe de France champions of the previous season, was a crucial component in the French champions’ first trophy victory of the season.

Although PSG and Messi were heavily criticized for not living up to expectations last season, they have had the strongest start to the 2022–23 season.

What did Neymar say regarding Messi?

When Neymar was questioned about whether or not Sunday’s performance marked the start of a new Messi at PSG, he sprang to the defense of his fellow attacker.

“In my opinion, no. People talk too much, in my opinion “To Prime Video, he remarked. “They are unaware of daily events and internal happenings.

“It’s me, Leo. Leo remains the same; nothing changes. He still makes a difference, though. He changes.

“It goes without saying that Leo, Kylian [Mbappe], and I all wish for the best for the three of us. The squad will benefit if the three of us are healthy.”

Added him: “We had a great match with the team, so I’m happy. It’s crucial to start winning because this is a contest with a trophy as the prize. You have to succeed no matter what.”

What are PSG’s expectations for Messi and Neymar?

Last season, PSG supporters harassed Messi and Neymar due to the team’s Champions League defeat.

They lost to the eventual champions Real Madrid, and they were eliminated in the round of 16.

Although Messi scored five goals in seven games in the European competition, many were unimpressed by his six goals in Ligue 1 despite his 14 assists.

With PSG looking to compete for additional championships under new coach Christophe Galtier, much more is expected of the former Barcelona hero this time around.
