Chief Pete Edochie, MON (born March 7, 1947) is a well-known Nigerian actor and television host. He is regarded as one of Africa’s most talented actors and a mentor to aspiring actors.
He has received an Industry Merit Award from Africa Magic and a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Africa Film Academy. Despite being a seasoned administrator and broadcaster.

His Early Life and Education
Pete Edochie was born in Enugu, Nigeria on March 7, 1947. He was born in Anambra State but raised in Zaria, Kaduna.
Rita Edochie is Pete Edochie’s sister-in-law and the aunt of both Yul Edochie and Muna Obiekwe.

Pete Edochie began his career in the broadcasting industry at the age of 20. He began as a junior program assistant and worked his way up to the position of director, where he served in various capacities. However, he left the radio station and joined Nollywood after the government decided to politicize the radio station’s affairs.
Before joining Nollywood, Pete Edochie had already appeared in Things Fall Apart and had won international awards and recognition.
He first appeared on stage as a 15-year-old student at St. John’s College in 1962. He appeared in William Shakespeare’s play The Merchant of Venice.
