The 52-year-old tactician is content in his new position and vows to raise young people up.

Rui Vitoria, the new coach of Egypt, has expressed a desire to develop a new Mohamed Salah.

After Ehab Galal was fired following Egypt’s 4-1 loss to South Korea in a friendly game, the Portuguese was chosen to serve as the Pharaohs’ new captain.

The 52-year-old is honored to get the chance to lead the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) champions and is determined to help the group develop better.

“I have respect for every member of the national team. Although Mohamed Salah is undoubtedly the best player in the world, we’ll work to develop a new Salah in Egypt “Kingfut cites Vitoria as saying this.

“I consider it an honor to lead the Egyptian national team, and I’m glad to be here. In his launching press conference, Vitória stated, “We have a plan for the upcoming years.

“You can consider me an Egyptian as of right now, just like the rest of you. I hope we will succeed, but we must present a unified front if we are to do so.

“I love dealing with young people, and our initiative for the next four years is in line with my ideas, so maybe we’ll be successful with it.”

The former Benfica coach has added that it will take time for the Pharaohs to perform better.

“I am not a magician, but I will strive to put our ideas into practice, improve the performances, and play our football,” Vitoria concluded.

“The fact that I am in a nation that lives and breathes football, and where millions of people will support us in our endeavor, is the biggest thing for me.

“When Hazem Emam informed me of the opportunity to play for the Egyptian national team and made the offer, I accepted it without hesitation.

Egypt has good football players, but we need to concentrate on each player’s performance and quality individually.

Senegal defeated the nation in the Afcon final, and despite losing to them once again on penalties, they prevented them from qualifying for the Qatar 2022 World Cup.
